The city weather, to everyone's delight has been exceptionally warm this week. Every day i've been able to ride downtown and find a pleasant new place to lime around. Today however, i just couldnt find a cool shady place to relax. I rode down Yonge st down to Bloor. Just before the intersection i saw Jeanne Beker walking along the street. I then made my way through Yorkville, but decided to head back to Bay st. to find a more central spot for my bike. After a quick recovery, i biked down to Kensington market, my new hot spot. I went through the Victoria campus at the University of Toronto, then across St.George to College st.
Unlike my previous visit to Kensington I was able to find a empty bike rail right next to Urban Herbivore. For refueling purposes I snacked on a hearty organic chocolate chip cookie and a thirst quenching pineapple lemonade before riding down to Queen and Richmond. I only realized after riding my bike along Richmond that it is a one way street. Woopsy!!! I ventured into Indigo to escape the heat and pick up the latest copy of Toronto Life. Finally, I hopped back on and made my way back uptown despite the intense afternoon heat. I wanted to stop every few mintues, but i knew I would never make it home if I did. I did have a bit of difficutly going up this hill around Summerhill but I plugged away, heavy breathing and all.
Overall, too hot to ride today. However, still a good afternoon downtown. Cant wait for the next ride. Maybe Dundas West again?
